Medix College of Health Care Massage Therapy Diploma Program

Medix College of Health Care is a Private Career College and an approved Massage Therapy Institution in Ontario offering a Diploma in Massage Therapy registered with and approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities (MTCU).  Successful completion may lead to Registration with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and the right to use the protected titles “Massage Therapist” and “Registered Massage Therapist”.

Medix College is an accredited institution with The Canadian Education and Training Accreditation Commission (CETAC) and is a member of the Ontario Council of Private Massage Therapy Colleges (OCPMTC).

BECOMING A REGISTERED MASSAGE THERAPIST IN ONTARIO

Graduates from a Massage Therapy program will be eligible to write the certification examinations administered by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Upon successful completion of these examinations, graduates will be able to apply to become registered with the College and practise Massage Therapy in the province of Ontario. Massage Therapy Scope of Practice

The practice of massage therapy is the assessment and manipulation of the soft tissue and joints of the body to treat, develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function, or to prevent or relieve pain.
(Massage Therapy Act 1991).

Massage therapy in Ontario is a growing profession that is part of the health care team providing primary care to clients and to the general population concerned with maintaining and enhancing health and well-being. Massage Therapists use Swedish massage techniques and additional forms of soft tissue manipulation and joint mobilizations as a complement to existing courses of medical treatment or as an exclusive treatment program. (CMTO).
