Program

In-Class Instruction:

The Massage Therapy Diploma Program requires 2000 hours of in-class instruction. However, the program length will vary depending on the campus. The program at the Brampton and Scarborough campus has a total length of 100 weeks, while the program at the Toronto campus has a total length of 50 weeks.
For the 50-week program at the Toronto campus, the MT schedule runs 8 hours a day, Monday to Friday. For the 100-week program at the Brampton or Scarborough campuses, the MT schedule runs 4 hours a day, Monday to Friday.  In addition to in-class instruction, students are required to participate in the Massage Student Clinic and Clinic Outreach.


  • Massage Student Clinic and Clinic Outreach:

Students will have the opportunity to begin training in the Student Massage Clinic, providing assessments and treatments of  conditions and injuries to members of the general public under the supervision of a Registered Massage Therapist.  

Medix Student Clinic also offers students the unique opportunity to work with various populations as demonstrated through our Massage Outreach Program.  Here students will provide onsite Massage Treatment to the elderly in long term care, athletes onsite at various sporting events, and onsite corporate wellness.

  • Cadaver Lab at the University of Guelph

Medix College of Health Care has a unique partnership with the University of Guelph, Human Anatomy Laboratory. Here, students have the privilege of learning anatomy using human body donors. The specimens have come from people who have graciously donated their bodies for the betterment of science and education. Studying the structures of the human body from real specimens is unsurpassed by any other learning tool. 

Prerequisites

All prospective students will interview with a Medix College Admissions Representative and a Massage Therapy Instructor.

Academic Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent, or mature student status.

Completion of the Wonderlic Cognitive Ability Test, used to assess the aptitude of prospective Massage Therapy Students for learning and problem-solving.
